Water cooling towers

For some cooling of high refrigeration capacity fluids but that do not require an output temperature below 25°C in the summer, Sorema proposes installing a cooling tower water:
-
Open circuit air-to-air coolers: Cooling by running water over an exchange body in direct contact with air. The towers exchange surfaces and envelopes are carefully chosen based on the process to be cooled, the water quality, and operating conditions. Helix suction or blower ventilation will be favored for its low power consumption and centrifugal blowers for their silence.

-
Closed circuit air-to-air coolers: The fluid to be cooled is not placed in contact with air. These towers are equipped with an intermediate plate heat exchanger made of stainless steel, fully removable and cleanable, to isolate the cooling tower evaporative circuit from the process circuit. This system, without glycol, is kept frost-free, and if an electrical outage occurs, water from the secondary circuit descends to the pool, allowing the free expansion of the plates. A self-cleaning centrifugal filter also enables filtering suspended solids.

The tower’s envelopes and basins are offered in galvanized steel, stainless steel, or polyester. The exchange bodies (or “packing”) are made of polyethylene.
We can also equip the tower with variable speed motors to save energy. Sorema can recommend tailored water treatment solutions: automatic deconcentration, anti-tartar and anti-corrosion treatments, as well as anti-legionella bactericide.
Finally, hybrid systems and adiabatic cooling may be studied.
