Ice accumulation tanks

Ice accumulation tanks RIS AG 3000    Ice accumulation tanks RIS AG 5000    Ice accumulation tanks RIS AG 950 Ice accumulation tanks RIS AG 950

Glycol water or direct expansion ice storage units (R404A, R407C ...) cooling water to 1°C and providing for accumulating cooling energy in the form of ice.

Applications :

Autoclave, mixer, pot, and dual envelop tub cooling, washing vegetables, cooling tap foodwater, cooling various heat exchangers.

Advantages:

  • The energy required for cooling a process is already stored as ice before the temperature reduction cycle begins.

  • Quick cooling time due to the significant refrigeration capacity for absorption by the stored ice at the beginning of the cycle.

  • Flexible to use due to on-demand ice melt in accordance with the required refrigeration, which changes at each point in the cycle (significant initially, low at the end).

  • Continuous production of water at +2°C, safely, by manufacturing ice around steel tubes without risk of ice blockage within exchangers, often responsible for degrading the refrigeration machine as a whole, with traditional water chillers.

  • Return water temperature and cooling water flow in the receiver completely independent of the refrigeration machine (accepts high return temperatures).

  • Cooling and storage possible at peak times to reduce costs and spread out electric power consumption.

  • Therefore, decreased investment by using a lower-power refrigeration machine, requiring smaller-sized electrical equipment a lower power demand.

  • Maintenance costs half as important as conventional water chillers on the market.

Technical characteristics:

  • Polyester laminate tank, insulated with polyurethane foam
  • 316 L stainless steel rack exchanger
  • Flow through operation in the glycol water exchanger at -8°C or with a direct expansion refrigerant gas
  • Solenoid valve (glycol water version) or thermostatic expansion valve (direct expansion version)
  •  Ice water distribution pump with bypass safety valve, control valve, and flow gauge
  • Stirrers
  • Drain valve, overflow
  • Automatic water make-up
  • Loop return holding
  •  Electrical power and operational management unit
  • Refrigeration unit on request
  •  Optional frost protection for the pump
  •  Inspection hatch
